‘I think to do good work you need to create the space, the spirit and the vibe where good things can happen,’ says the effervescent Marina Willer, who is a graphic designer and filmmaker also known for being one of Pentagram‘s first female partners.

For those who follow her on Instagram, she has also become much-loved for her lockdown doodles, which she crafts out of pen, paper, and brightly coloured, cut-out stickers. According to Marina, the act of sketching helps her manage everything from creative stress to lockdown blues and even chronic migraines. ‘Doodling is like meditation. But it is practical. It helps me clear my head and helps me focus,’ she explains. Especially in our screen-dominated times, these compositions make for a special kind of visual relief. ‘I love tangible things, we do a lot digitally, and that in a way makes me also crazy about things you can make in the analog world.’
