Karla Paniagua
Doctor in cultural studies, master’s in visual anthropology, communications scholar. She directs the Design for Tomorrow and Educational Design programs, co-edits the journal Economía Creativa, and co-directs the UNESCO Chair Methods of Design for Democratic Access to the Future’s Imagination at CENTRO. She hosts the radio program El futuro fue antier. Author of 4 books, multiple research and outreach articles, blogger, researcher and speaker.

Jorge Camacho

Strategic designer, futurist, and researcher with a particular interest in how design practices can become drivers of social change. In collaboration with Karla Paniagua, he is co-curator of “Futuros Pánicos,” the central exhibition of Abierto de Diseño CDMX 2026.

For over a decade, he has combined practice and teaching in strategic, systemic, and prospective design. He holds a Master’s degree in Cyberculture and a PhD in Cultural Studies from the University of East London. Since 2022, he has been director of the Master’s in Design: Methods and Explorations at CENTRO | Diseño, Cine y Televisión, where, for over 15 years, he has taught courses in strategic design, futures thinking, and systems thinking. He has taught graduate courses at Ibero (Mexico City), UAL (London), IED (Madrid), Domus Academy (Milan), among others.

He is co-founder of Diagonal, a research, design, and futures studio based in Mexico City that has carried out projects for multinational companies such as BBVA, Constellation Brands, SPACE10, and AT&T. Since 2019, he has also collaborated as an affiliate researcher at the Institute for the Future, a world-leading futures organization, carrying out foresight projects for private, public, and social organizations around the world. He recently co-founded Territorios Futuros, a systemic design and design-for-transitions practice that enables collective action to accelerate place-based systemic transformation.
