Martijn Lopes Cardozo is at the forefront of helping the world to transition to a more circular economy. After an impressive past life as a serial entrepreneur building numerous successful companies in software, mobile and digital media in California, Martijn is now helping to lead the shift away from a “take, make and dispose ” linear economy to a circular reality where materials can be upcycled and reused.
For six years he has served as the CEO of Black Bear, a circular economy company that retrieves high-value materials from end-of-life tires. He now leads Circle Economy, an Amsterdam based impact organisation that empowers businesses, cities and nations with practical and scalable solutions to put the circular economy into action. By paving the way for change, Martijn speaks regularly at conferences such as COP26, TEDx and Start-up fest, mobilising more people to join this rapidly rising movement.
