Gerardo Gutierrez Smith studied civil engineering at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City, and later studied a Master’s Degree in Management of Construction and Real Estate Companies at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
In 2010 he founded the company TAT Constructora, a company with more than 50 public and private construction projects, in 2012 he founded the company Concretos Sustentables Mexicanos, a company that owns the first construction waste recycling plant in the country with the technology to receive and process all types of waste regardless of its level of contamination.
In 2018, he founded the Mexican Association for the Recycling of Construction and Demolition Waste, which to date chairs and represents before the International Federation of Recycling (FIR).
Speaker at the 2nd International Conference on Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling in Madrid, Spain.
He is currently advising different states of the Mexican Republic for the revision or elaboration of the norms involved in the management of construction waste.
