A different approach to healthcare innovation

Hosted by Reframing Academy

While we have seen the rise of impressive health care innovations, added complexity has created growing dependency on funding and in some areas a decrease in effectiveness. This is happening in a context of individuals who are finding it increasingly harder to connect to their community in a meaningful way. This is not sustainable, financially nor socially.

When looking for innovation we usually think of technology: brain scanners, pharmaceuticals, genetic engineering… very sexy, probably useful in the long run but also extremely expensive and experimental.

This workshop investigates social innovations: by redesigning our neighbourhoods, by rethinking the way we conceptualise ‘health’, redirecting the way money flows and redirecting our focus on prevention instead of treatment. By allowing people to re-connect with themselves and also with their communities they will find resources for improved personal, as well as communal vitality.

Format
Reframing Academy will subject the audience to the interactive quiz that was designed for WDCD 2017. We will turn each and every member of the audience into a data-point and have them running around giant graphs and charts revealing correlations and stunning divides!

Takeaway
Although ‘Health’ is one of our main concerns, and we are demanding a lot of improvements and innovation, most of us are completely stuck in the same ‘health care mindset’ that has created our present system. In this workshop we will test just how ignorant you are on matters regarding your health!

THIS WORKSHOP will TAKE PLACE ON May 25 AT 14.00 – 16.30 IN THE STADSSCHOUWBURG SALON
