What Design Can Do is looking for an event fundraising consultant

The assignment

WDCD organises annual design festivals, and in June 2022 we will host the 10th edition of the WDCD Live 2022 in Amsterdam.  We are looking for a fundraiser consultant to support us from January – June 2022 for approximately 4 days per month. As an event fundraising consultant, you will work closely with members of the management team to secure corporate and foundation partnerships to make the event a success. 

What will you do? 

Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Global Development and other members of WDCD’s management team members, you will: 

  • Identify prospect sponsors from the private and public sector
  • Manage and grow an active pipeline of sponsors 
  • Engage with prospective sponsors to create a mutually beneficial relationship
  • Develop compelling sponsorship offers and pitches
  • Help prepare and participate in meetings with prospective sponsors
  • Prepare post-event reports to sponsors as required 
What are we looking for? 

We are looking for a consultant with a proven track record in events fundraising and/or event sales who brings the following:

  • You have a successful track record in securing sponsorships for events
  • You have advanced skills in developing compelling proposals/pitches incl. budgets and can do this in English and in Dutch
  • You are able to manage the event acquisition pipeline and drive it towards the desired results
  • You have an interest in, or experience working with, the creative sector, designers, sustainability, and/or climate action
Level of commitment required

The consultant will work an average of at least 1 day (8 working hours) per week but you have the flexibility to shift or increase the number of hours per week depending on the need to do so.
