Floor Koomen (1972) is an image editor based in Amsterdam. Since 2024 she works for the Dutch weekly magazine De Groene Amsterdammer. Trained as a graphic designer, she has always been interested in the role of imagery within a journalistic context. This interest is also reflected in her own project, De Facto, in which she explores the role of design in nation-building. Floor Koomen also teaches at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, the university of applied sciences for Fine Arts and Design in Amsterdam.
Floor will facilitate the workshop Inside the Editorial Room – Visual Storytelling in Journalism during the afternoon programme of WDCD Live on 6 June at Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam.
