Sharing is having, swapping is free

Hosted by Femke van Gemert

Donate your old clothes, worn and torn garments, misfits, impulse buys, out of style jeans, tight shirts, stained dresses and other textiles at the big WDCD Fashion Swap. Bring them with you to the event and swap them for a whole new outfit for free.

This swap – which is open for anyone with or without WDCD ticket – is hosted by textile artist and main stage speaker Femke van Gemert, who works with used textiles only when producing her wall panels, tapestries, installations and site-specific soft wall coverings.

The format of this workshop is simple: Take any clean garment you want to get rid off to WDCD. Have them checked by the fashion experts whether they can be hung on the rack or land on the pile of rags/textile waste. Then pick anything nice you like and take that home with you.

Your takeaway from this workshop is possibly a new outfit, and most probably also an idea about the surplus waste produced by the current fashion system.

The Fashion Swap takes place in the Rotonde of the Stadsschouwburg, entrance is free.
