• Tuesday, 3 June – 10:00-12:00 (Arrival 09:45)
  • Location: BYBORRE Studio in Amsterdam
  • With: Borre Akkersdijk – Founder at ByBorre

Just a few days before the festival kicks off, BYBORRE opens its doors for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at their Amsterdam-based studio — a pioneering space where textile innovation, technology, and sustainability meet.

BYBORRE is renowned for its radical approach to material development. With an open-source philosophy and tools like 3D knitting and on-demand production, the studio creates textiles that are both visually striking and environmentally conscious. Their work challenges industries such as fashion, furniture and mobility to rethink how materials are sourced, made and used — proving how design can be a powerful driver of systemic change.

As part of our festival theme Climate Futurism, this visit will explore what the future of textiles could look like in a world that must stay within planetary boundaries. What can designers learn from BYBORRE’s methods — from transparent supply chains to radical collaboration?
