Presentation

WE WANT THE STORY BEHIND THE DESIGN

Creatives can talk well and very passionately about their own work and inspiration. We look at the design process and the effect of the product or service that was designed. How did users or audiences react? What was the impact of design?

So, don’t show the audience just a portfolio. Engage them with your story, be honest. It’s an audience of creative peers, and they will highly appreciate your openness.

 

UNFORGETTABLE PRESENTATIONS
  • Presentations must be image rich; photos make a presentation come alive, bullet points do not. If you use text, reduce it as much as possible.
  • Please stick to the time slot that is given to you. We know you want to tell us everything, but running over time will affect the whole program. Be sure to test and time your presentation.
  • Presentations will be more memorable if you bring something extra to the stage. Whether it is a prop, a prototype or a sketch, let us know if you have any special requests by 28 June and we will do our best to make it happen!
  • The rehearsal will be July 4 between 16:00-19:00, and your exact time slot will be mentioned in your personal itinerary, which you’ll receive one week prior to the event. You are welcome to join us for an intimate speakers dinner at Hotel de Goudfazant following the rehearsal.

presentation specifications

  • Please submit your presentation to us no later than 28 June, so that we can double check, test and put everything in place. Send it to morgan@whatdesigncando.com.
  • We will be using a full HD projector and a 16:9 HD screen, run from a Macbook. Our preferred format is PDF, but Keynote or PowerPoint are also welcome. If providing a PowerPoint or Keynote, make sure to include all fonts, images and videos separately so they are not compromised in the conversion.
  • Please embed your films, and don’t use internet links or build your presentation on an online platform. If you use special fonts, please send them with your presentation.
  • Submitting your presentation is necessary to make sure your images, fonts, movies etc will be displayed properly. If necessary you will be given the possibility to make last minute changes during rehearsal.
