GENDER EQUAL STORIES IN THE MEDIA

Juliana de Faria will tell us how the NGO Think Olga contributes to balancing female and male voices in the media, and how the way we tell stories can change the percep-tion of what happened. She’ll be joined by two guests in this session: Bianca Santana, the author of Quando me descobri negra (When I saw myself as a black woman, in a free translation), and the feminist writer Clara Averbuck, that leads groups for women who want to write, helping to reduce the gap of gender inequality in the media .Bianca will demonstrate how black women produce knowledge and have held political power for centuries, even in the period of resistance to slavery and even today, when indicators allow us to denounce that they occupy the basis of the social pyramid.
