Zuzana Ernst is an artist and curator with a focus on social activation through political participatory work, practicing at the intersection of scenography, performance and collaboration. She is the founding member of the performing arts collective tangent.COLLABORATIONS. She also co-founded Tanz durch den Tag (Dance through the Day), an initiative reclaiming public space in Vienna through open-air interventions.

Currently Ernst is Associate Art Director of Brunnenpassage [ArtSocialSpace], a decentralized art institution in Vienna, which operates as a venue and laboratory for transcultural and participatory art.

As a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna she combines theory and practice with an emphasis on experimental chance processes. She has exhibited and performed throughout Europe as well as Ecuador and the United States. Ernst received her BA in lighting design and theatre science at Indiana University, Bloomington USA, studied architecture at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and a Masters in scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
