Herman van Bostelen is a graphic designer, illustrator and visual artist who mainly works for clients in the cultural realm, including theatre, literature and visual arts. Besides his design work, he is a member of the editorial board of Terras, a magazine on international literature, and of the supervisory board of the Association of Dutch Designers BNO.

From 2001 until 2011 van Bostelen has lectured at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Together with the design agencies Lesley Moore and De Designpolitie he is one of the founders of Gorilla, a visual column that was launched in 2006 on the front page of Dutch daily newspaper de Volkskrant and currently is published in the weekly magazine De Groene Amsterdammer.

Together with Alex Clay Herman van Bostelen will host the breakout session ‘The Daily Gorilla’ on may 8 which is presented by Abierto Mexicano de Diseño.
