Caio Vassão é arquiteto e urbanista, doutor pela FAUUSP. Pesquisa as relações entre tecnologia, urbanidade, comunidades e processos criativos há mais de 20 anos. Em 2008, apresenta o projeto Pocket Car – desenvolvido em parceria com o arquiteto e cicloativista Marcus Del Mastro – sobre uma nova classe de veículos urbanos compactos e utilizados em regime de micro-aluguel.

Hoje, dedica-se ao desenvolvimento do conceito da Cidade Distribuída, o conceito que vai além da cidade inteligente, e compreende a cidade digital como uma obra coletiva. É professor em numerosos programas de pós-graduação, consultor e mentor em projetos de inovação. É chief innovation officer na Kyvo, desenvolvendo projetos de inovação para o futuro brasileiro. 

 

Caio Vassão graduated with a PhD from from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo, researching mobile architecture, contemporary art, interaction design and interfaces. One of Vassão’s most recurrent research themes is the dialogue between new technologies and the conformation of the contemporary urban environment. As part of this study, he investigates design methodologies for ubiquitous computing.

Vassão has worked on updating and expanding Metadesign with the “Free Architecture” project approach that can be considered as a generalisation of the Free Software approach to other areas of creation and proposal, such as industrial design, interface design, Architecture, Architecture of High Technology, the mobile and flexible architecture and urbanism.

As an architect and designer, he works in urban and building design, technical and didactic illustration, information architecture and information design.

He was Professor of the Faculty of Plastic Arts of FAAP and professor and researcher at the Senac University Center, participating in several postgraduate programs, such as strategic design and interaction design (both in IED / SP), user-centered design (Universidade Positivo / PR) and design (FAAP).
