Kummer & Herrman is a design agency founded in 1998 by Jeroen Kummer and Arthur Herrman. While their roots stem from the renowned Dutch tradition of graphic design for print, they have grown into a multidisciplinary creative office that develops publications, exhibitions, visual identities and campaigns over a wide range of media.
Their approach is determined by a strong, substantial and editorial involvement, as they are convinced by the notion that design is not only about the surface but should reveal and enhance the story being told.
Kummer and Herrman believe that design can play a crucial role in creating attention and achieving a deeper understanding of complex contemporary issues. This belief is reflected in their longstanding collaborations with individuals and organizations operating within the domains of the arts, photography, documentary, journalism, education and science. In 2014 Kummer & Herrman was winner of the prestigious Dutch Design Award. Next to his work at Kummer & Herrman, Arthur Herrman teaches graphic design and typography at HKU Media, University of the Arts Utrecht.
Arthur Herrman will host the breakoutsession ‘Sinking Cities’ on may 8
