Graphic designer Alex Clay is co-founder of the Amsterdam-based design agency Lesley-Moore, which he set up together with Karin van den Brandt. The agency is known for its awarded visual identities for high standing cultural institutions in the Netherlands, including the National Opera & Ballet, Centraal Museum in Utrecht, and The Royal Academy of Art & Conservatoire The Hague.
Clay studied graphic design at the Skolen for Grafisk Design in Oslo, Norway and subsequently completed his Bachelor of Arts at ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands.
Together with design agency De Designpolitie and self-employed designer Herman van Bostelen Clay’s agency Lesley Moore is one of the founders of Gorilla, a visual column that was launched in 2006 on the front page of Dutch daily newspaper de Volkskrant and currently is published in the weekly magazine De Groene Amsterdammer.
