WHAT DESIGN CAN DO IS LOOKING FOR A JUNIOR PROJECT MANAGER

 

The major questions of our time are in need of design and creativity. What Design Can Do (WDCD) is a platform that advocates design as a catalyst of change and as a way of addressing the societal questions of our time. We do this by organizing events and design challenges. We create opportunities for radical collaboration by bringing designers and societal partners together around topics like climate change and social justice. So far, WDCD has hosted 14 successful international design conferences in Amsterdam, São Paulo and México City. And it has ran three worldwide challenges on Climate Action, Clean Energy and the integration of Refugees. We are looking for a project assistant to support the WDCD challenges program.

 

THE ROLE OF THE JUNIOR PROJECT MANAGER:

 

Responsibilities:

As part of the Program Team you are responsible for:

  • Assisting the team with project management, planning and administration on several WDCD projects;
  • Production during (online) events such as workshops, live streams, jury-days;
  • Communication with challenge participants, event partners and external partners;
  • Supporting international team members and / or partners;
  • Research and report on topics, projects or institutions that are relevant to the challenge and event program

 

Qualifications:

  • You have affinity with project management in the design-, cultural- or creative field;
  • You are able to work autonomously, but you enjoy working in a team;
  • You are in possession of excellent communications skills, both written and spoken;
  • You are digitally savvy;
  • You are familiar with online tools such as WordPress, Zoom, Google Drive and know how to make a presentation in Keynote and PDF;
  • You might even know your way around Adobe CS;
  • You are fluent in Dutch, both written and spoken;
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken
