Climate Action Design Jam

To kick-start the Climate Action Challenge, WDCD hosted a two-day Design Jam at the WDCD conference on 23 and 24 may in Amsterdam. During an active workshop programme students and young professionals were challenged to develop fresh and innovative ideas to combat climate change and its effects. Meanwhile, leading innovators from various creative disciplines shared their vision and guided the participants throughout the ideation process.

The Climate Action Design Jam consisted of four stages: 1. Empathize & 2. Ideate on the first day;  3. Make and 4. Pitch on the second day. In the last stage, all participants present their ideas before a panel of climate, business and design experts. The winning team received a yearlong free membership at Makerversity, a maker community dedicated to advance creative entrepreneurs. Throughout the two-days participants were supported by a group of coaches and have research and development material at their disposal.

Though the Design Jam is over; the deadline for entries for the WDCD Climate Action Challenge is 21 August 2017. Submit your project via our Challenge Platform and be part of the solution!
