OK, here’s our last effort to convince you to buy your tickets for WDCD Live Amsterdam 2016 (30 June-1 July 2016) with 10 %  early bird discount, as the offer closes tomorrow. That’s why we’re so happy to announce the amazing light-and-sound virtuoso Marcus Lyall.

‘On Your Wavelength’ is the title of a breath taking project director and designer Marcus Lyall recently exhibited in London. It’s an installation in which light and sound react to the thoughts of its visitor. ‘I decided to think of something powerful and profound in my life. Then the lines started moving a lot more and the sounds reflected how I was feeling significantly. It was powerful and positive,’ a visitor said.

Marcus Lyall is a designer and director who specialises in projects involving moving images, interaction and live performance. ‘I like creating simple, bold gestures that connect with audiences,’ he says. ‘I work with a mixture of music, art and commercial clients, often taking projects from first sketches to final delivery.’

Lyall studied graphic design and audio-visual studies at Central St Martins in the early nineties, becoming involved in the dance music scene. He started creating projection shows for concerts and club nights, which led him to working on live shows for bands including U2, The Rolling Stones, The Chemical Brothers and Oasis.

His approach has been greatly influenced by his work in live music, film and advertising. He works mainly with film, light, sound and interaction. His artwork often involves large-scale interactive experiences, which aim to provoke visceral, unguarded reactions from participants and audiences. His design and directing work can be seen at concerts across the world, notably for The Chemical Brothers and Metallica. He has also created commissioned installations and films including a large-scale light performance for Nokia and Deadmau5 and a short film, featuring footballer Leo Messi, for Adidas.
